Straight Up Dance Academy respects your privacy. This page explains what we collect when you use this website, what we do with it, and how to get it removed.
The chat assistant on this site is AI
When you use the chat window on this site, you are talking to an artificial intelligence assistant, not a person. It answers using information about our business. It can be wrong. Please confirm anything important — prices, schedules, availability, policies — with us directly before relying on it.
What we collect
When you chat: the full text of your conversation, including anything you choose to tell the assistant.
When you send us your details: your name, email address, phone number, and whatever you write in your message.
Automatically: a temporary identifier stored in your browser tab so your conversation doesn’t disappear if you reload the page. It is deleted when you close the tab.
We do not place tracking cookies on your device, use advertising networks, or run analytics that follow you across other websites.
If you tell us about a child
Because we offer dance classes for children and adults, people often tell our assistant who a class or service is for. If you mention a child’s first name, age, or similar details, the assistant records them along with your enquiry so we can help you properly. That information is stored with your enquiry and emailed to us.
If you would rather not have those details recorded, please leave them out of the chat and tell us in person or by phone instead. This website is intended for adults making enquiries. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the chat and given us their information, contact us at straightupoffice@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Who else sees it
Your conversation is sent to Anthropic, an AI company in the United States, so their model can generate a reply. It is sent to them a second time after your conversation ends, so it can be summarised and sorted for us. Anthropic does not use it to train their AI, and deletes it within about thirty days.
If we email you a reply, that email goes out through Resend, an email delivery service in the United States.
Our website and its database are hosted with Google Cloud and Turso, both in Oregon, USA. Our website was built and is maintained by GatewayAI, LLC, which keeps administrative access to this site in order to support it — meaning their staff are able to see enquiries stored here.
This site embeds content from Google Maps and Canva. Those services may set their own cookies and have their own privacy policies, which we don’t control.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
How long we keep it
Chat conversations are automatically deleted after 30 days, except where a conversation is attached to an enquiry we’re still working on — those we keep until the enquiry is closed.
Enquiries and contact details we keep until we no longer need them or until you ask us to delete them.
Getting your information removed
Email straightupoffice@gmail.com and ask. You can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you
- correct anything that’s wrong
- delete it
- send you a copy
We’ll respond within 45 days, and usually much faster. We won’t treat you any differently for asking. Deleting an enquiry also deletes the chat conversation attached to it.
Depending on where you live you may also have a right to appeal if we say no, and to complain to your state’s attorney general. In Utah, that’s the Division of Consumer Protection.
Changes
If we change this notice we’ll update the date at the top.
